It's a big weekend for Vancouver concertgoers, with Paul McCartney returning to the city on Sunday (November 25) for his first concert in the area in 48 years, and Bruce Springsteen bringing his E Street band out west on Monday (November 26). Now, if reports are to be believed, two of rock's biggest players may actually get together on stage for BC music fans.
Vancouver radio station CKNW tweeted this afternoon (November 23) that the pair are prepping for a team-up, posting "@CKNW reporting @Springsteen flying to #Vancouver early to perform with @PaulMcCartney @bcplace Sunday night. Concert is sold out."
Before you get your hopes up, representatives at Live Nation, who are staging McCartney's Sunday night performance at BC Place and Springsteen's stop at the neighbouring Rogers Arena the next night, would not confirm to the Vancouver Sun's Francois Marchand that the artists would appear together on the weekend.
It should be noted, however, that the pair previously teamed up onstage this summer at London's Hyde Park for a performance of "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist & Shout." You can see some shaky footage of that performance down below.
Since neither Macca nor the Boss have confirmed things on their end, we'll have to wait until Sunday night to figure out if they'll offer up a three-hour mash-up of "Hey Jude" and "Born to Run."
