In the true spirit of rocking power pop, New York's Paul Collins Beat and Montreal's Dany Laj & the Looks have announced a joint tour through North America.
The month-long run will see the two bands start in Ontario and make their way through Canada westward, before heading down the coast through the United States. A date at Toronto's Cadillac Lounge kicks things off on March 30, while a performance at the Acheron in Brooklyn will cap things on April 30. Local bands from each tour stop will provide support.
A number of the U.S. dates will also feature a Record Fair/Happy Hour with a DJ performing ahead of the gigs themselves, a concept that Collins has been pioneering since last year. A press release explains that local record stores are invited to bring a selection of vintage rock LPs for showgoers to browse through while enjoying a few drinks.
"This has been the single best idea to get the shows to be more fun and bring people out earlier so the opener can play to a crowd!" Collins explained in a statement.
