Parkway Drive to Explore the Deep Blue This Summer

BY Greg PrattPublished May 17, 2010

Australian metalcore exports Parkway Drive have announced a release date for their third album, Deep Blue. Fans of the band, mark June 29 on your calendar, because that's when Parkway Drive's first album in three years will drop.

Deep Blue follows up 2007's Horizons, and according to a press release, the album maintains "the band's uncompromising metallic-hardcore style at its core," but "it pushes into exciting new realms, drawing from a wider scope of influence, incorporating everything from anthemic pop-punk to bloodcurdling death metal."

The album was recorded and mixed in L.A. with Joe Barresi, who has previously twirled the knobs for Bad Religion, Tool and Queens of the Stone Age. Speaking of Bad Religion, that band's guitarist - and Epitaph Records head honcho - Brett Gurewitz lends his vocalizing to one tune, "Home is for the Heartless."

You can check out a trailer for the disc, which will be released through Epitaph, below.

Parkway Drive are on tour from May to August, hitting up North America on the Warped tour (including a few Canadian dates) and doing some Euro touring; check out their complete itinerary here.
