Parasona

'Bad Seed' (album stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 6, 2017

Toronto two-piece Parasona take their name from a combination of "parabellum" (Latin for "prepare for war") and "potensona" (meaning "powerful music"), and they've poured that fighting spirit and sound into their debut album, Bad Seed. The album is now ready to be heard, and Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive listen to it.

The 10-track offering from Adam Lancia and Joshua Golias hears the pair drawing on their alt-rock influences to deliver stories about "the rollercoaster that love plays on our hearts, minds and souls."

As demonstrated by the titular lead track, the music also strives to showcase "the struggle to grow as a person and come out the other side as more than just a bad seed."

It's a sentiment carried on throughout other cuts like "Fall Down," "Alone" and "What's Left Inside," before the record wraps up with the slightly softer sounding "Hail the Queen."
