Paper Bag Records Launches "Vintage" Vinyl Reissue Label

Diving even deeper into the ever-expanding world of vinyl, Toronto's Paper Bag Records has launched Paper Bag Vintage — a new side label aimed at bringing Canadian albums back to wax.

The new offshoot "will showcase and preserve great Canadian albums that have yet to be pressed on vinyl or haven't been reissued in recent years," a press release states. This so far includes upcoming vinyl reissues from the Dears, Great Lake Swimmers, Art Bergmann, Born Ruffians, Tokyo Police Club, Torngat and the Acorn.

The Dears are the first to be honoured, with their 2000 debut album End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story arriving on vinyl for the first time on April 21. It's available for pre-order here.

After that, Art Bergmann's 1991 album, Remember Her Name, will be treated to its first vinyl release on May 12. It's available for pre-order now, as well.

Also in the works are a Great Lake Swimmers box set featuring the band's first three albums, re-releases of Born Ruffians' self-titled debut EP and the Acorn's Glory Hope Mountain, and still to-be-announced offerings from Tokyo Police Club and Torngat.
