Paloma

The closest references we have are a folksy Will Oldham mixed with the Kings of Convenience, slowed down just a bit. Laurent Vaissiere is following inspiration and moving forth from his native France, finally getting this EP released on Spanish label Acuarela. A nicely arranged affair, these six songs have been procured and remixed to ensure the soft touch that is Paloma does not get smudged. It is worrisome that if the music is not deliberately brought into the foreground, it can easily slide into an unnoticed background. But with some time and volume, the simple and appealing picking, sing-song vocals and PC touch-ups will have a smile creeping up on you. "I don't care if I get old, old is just things untold." The seemingly wise lyrics are a perfect fit.
