Palm Highway Chase's 'Escape from New York' Gets Vinyl Release Through Spectrum Spools
Palm Highway Chase's album Escape from New York was released online back in 2009, but the veil of mystery surrounding this low-key release will finally be lifted when it gets a proper label release through the Editions Mego imprint Spectrum Spools on July 8.

There's only minimal information currently available about Palm Highway Chase, but an announcement from the label notes that this album was made in January 2009 and has logged over 5,000 downloads since then. It's said to be an "enigmatic blast of fully focused, high-speed pursuit tunes channeling the 1984 tropical shoreline highway. The imaginary soundtrack to the escape from your most intense predicament."

The record consists of nine cinematic synth tracks that sport driving electronic rhythms and tightly wound drum machine programming. Hear some of the material below, which, as you could guess from that title, sounds a bit like an awesome action movie soundtrack from the '80s.

Escape from New York will be available on vinyl and digitally and can be pre-ordered here.
