Published Apr 08, 2015As it stands, we're less than a week away from the release of Mike Simonetti's new Pale Blue project's debut album, The Past We Leave Behind. Modern times being as they are, you can hear the entirety of the electro pop-dabbling set ahead of the official April 14 street date in a full-length album stream that's online right now.
As we'd heard on tracks like "The Math," Pale Blue steers towards a serene blend of house-style beats, disco breaks and maybe even icy early '80s New Order. Elizabeth Wight's vocals are front and centre on "The Scars," which stretches out a series of heavenly "ahhs" across the aural landscape, while "Tougher" balances oscillated synth melodies and four-on-the-floor pulsations with deadpan spoken word passages.
While you can sample it all below, courtesy of FACT, you'll have to wait until Tuesday before 2MR puts The Past We Leave Behind in stores.
