The Pains of Being Pure At Heart "Poison Touch"

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart "Poison Touch"
Charming indie pop crew the Pains of Being Pure At Heart delivered a new record back in spring with the release of Days of Abandon, but are already back with a new tune.

Channelling the sunshine of a spring that seems like a long time ago now, "Poison Touch" is an upbeat, unabashedly poppy number that gets some help on vocals from A Sunny Day in Glasgow's Jen Goma.

Band leader Kip Berman joked that the vocal part was originally written for a different kind of singer. "I wrote 'Poison Touch' for Taylor Swift, but I think her number was in my old phone," he said [via Stereogum]. "So I gave it to A Sunny Day In Glasgow's Jen Goma instead."

It's a switch that seems to have worked out wonderfully. The track will appear on the deluxe version of Days of Abandon, which is slated for release on September 22. Give "Poison Touch" a spin below.
