Pachinko

Splendor in the Ass II: Electric Boogaloo

BY Stuart GreenPublished Apr 1, 2000

Not to be outdone, however, are Madison, Wisconsin's Pachinko. Although this is only their second full-length, the band has been around for about seven years, making appearances on seven-inches and compilations. This follow up to their raw and raucous debut, Behind the Green Pachinko, is every bit as sick, twisted and dirty as the Fifty Tons record, but goes that extra mile when it comes to piling on the layers of noise and extremes. And hailing from the Midwest, they probably come by it quite naturally - being that close to people like Steve Albini will have that effect on you.
