Now that we've all had time to absorb Owen Pallett's sweeping new album, Heartland, the singer/violinist is getting ready to roll out some remixes on the twelve-inch for album standout "Lewis Takes Off His Shirt."
The collection will be released on June 22 via Domino, and will feature three new versions of the title track (as well as the original album cut), plus remixes of Heartland favourites "Keep the Dog Quiet" and "Midnight Directives."
The biggest name involved with the project is electro eccentric Dan Deacon, whose take on "Lewis Takes Off His Shirt" can be downloaded here. The result is exactly what you'd expect out of a Dan Deacon remix, with disorienting vocal layering and thundering, rapid-fire drums, sounding a bit like his "Red F."
Also on board are British beatmaker Max Tundra and Montreal's CFCF. The full tracklisting is below, along with the dates for Pallett's upcoming North American tour and European festival appearances.
