Published Feb 22, 2011Airing on CBC Radio 2 from Monday to Friday at 10 p.m., The Signal puts forward the best in new, forward-thinking music. It's fitting then that the show will host "a festival of contemporary music without borders" in Vancouver next month.
The festival, dubbed SignalFest, runs from March 4 to March 6 at the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre. The full lineup includes performances from Owen Pallett, Jesse Zubot, Aeroplane Trio, DarkBlueWorld, Fond of Tigers, Francois Houle, Wilson/Lee/Bentley, Gordon Grdina Trio, Inhabitants, Brasstronaut and Jelena Milojevi.
More information on the festival, including tickets and scheduling, can be found here. It should be noted that the Brasstronaut performance on March 4 and the Jelena Milojevi performance on March 6 are both free, but fans must RSVP to the events at RSV[email protected], specifying which show they would like to attend and how many tickets they would like.
Fans outside of Vancouver, fret not, as live, in-concert recordings of the performers will also be broadcast on The Signal.
