Outkast Set to Reunite in 2014

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 20, 2013

Despite our initial doubts, it's apparently official: long-gone hip-hop heroes Outkast are reuniting. Or at least that's according to the folks over at Revolt TV.

Earlier today (November 19), Billboard hinted at a reunion, stating that various anonymous sources revealed that Big Boi and André 3000 were "in talks" to get back together as Outkast for Coachella 2014. Now Revolt is straight-up reporting, "Outkast is reuniting."

No firm date has been give for the live reunion, which will mark Outkast's first onstage appearance since going on indefinite hiatus in 2007. Also, Revolt writes, "Though details are scant (the members' secretive nature keeps even our sources tight-lipped), we're told the reunion is currently set to exist solely in the live setting, with no new album plans in sight, for now."

So yeah, if you were hoping this would finally spawn a new Outkast record, you're probably out of luck.

Details about when and where they will reunite — if it all actually happens — are still up in the air. However, there are rumours of the duo playing Atlanta's CounterPoint Festival in April, as well as, of course, Coachella 2014.

Also, we should remind you that there have been various Outkast reunion fake-outs over the years, so don't get too overly excited until dudes actually hit the stage for real and in the flesh.

UPDATE: Well, here's a bit more evidence that this Outkast reunion is actually happening: Outkast collaborator and Dungen Family member Sleepy Brown just posted this image over on Instagram, stating "Outkast headlining Coachella 2014."
