Following up a 2014 self-titled EP and a split cassette with Terrorista, Toronto post-punks Outer Rooms are ready to unveil their debut full-length Worldless Fantastic. The official release is still a week away, but Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to the album in its entirety right now.
The group blend clamouring keys, drums, guitars and shouts together in a euphorically frenetic fashion, moulding the racket into precise, high-energy blasts of gripping, punk-informed rock. There are raucous odes to girls, cars and money ("We Can Help You Make Money," "Lindsay Anderson"), bygone eras ("The Eighties," "Bunker 1874"), and both the literal and figurative ups and downs of life ("Coaster," "Worldless Fantastic").
