Out Hud to Never Speak Again

Sleater-Kinney and Weezer are calling indefinite hiatuses, but Sacramento-born and NYC-based disco/punk/funk act Out Hud are going for the full break-up. Talking to Pitchfork, vocalist/cellist Molly Schnick tersely told the website, "Yes, we did break up. We figured everyone already knew. There are clues about it all over the last record. Solo records to follow…” Despite only releasing two albums in their ten-year career, the five-piece (featuring three members of !!!) were at the forefront of the postmillennial disco and funk-inspired post-punk movement. Both 2002’s S.T.R.E.E.T. D.A.D. and last year’s Let Us Never Speak of it Again were critically-acclaimed underground hits credited for innovating the realms of electronic and dance music.
