Montreal post-punk act Ought achieved massive acclaim with the release of their debut album More Than Any Other Day. Rather than rest on their laurels, they've maintained a serious work ethic, touring relentlessly and now completing a follow-up EP.
Called Once More with Feeling, the EP's four songs were recorded at Montreal's Hotel2Tango earlier this summer.
Initially, the release was going to be a tour-only EP and would feature early recordings from before the band were signed. Instead, they rerecorded their early songs, recorded a new one ("New Calm Pt. 3") and shared an out take from their More Than Any Other Day session ("Waiting").
A press release promises "nostalgia and balladry," "feverish revival-tent testifying" and "improv/abstraction."
Constellation Records will issue Once More with Feeling on October 28. The release will be available as a 10-inch record and digital download. You can stream "Pill" below as part of Constellation's Fall 2014 Sampler. It's the third of three tracks.
