Published May 15, 2013Last year, the Acorn's Rolf Klausener helped launch a new Ottawa event called Arboretum Arts Festival. Evidently it went well, since the festival has expanded to two days for its second instalment, which runs from August 16 and 17 at Ottawa's Waller Park.
This year's lineup includes Owen Pallett, Jim Bryson, Holy Fuck, Michael Feuerstack, DIANA, Doldrums, Sarah Neufeld (of Arcade Fire), Roberta Bondar, Cousins, Julie Fader, Big Dick, Snowblink, and more.
In addition to music, the festival will include a food component in the form of "Chef Sessions," which a press release describes as "a concert-like lineup of the city's forward-thinking chef's, doling out small plates in one-hour 'sets.'"
According to a the announcement, "Arboretum is inspired by progressive music festivals around the world, and aims to provide a snapshot of Ottawa's new cultural renaissance."
More musical performers will be confirmed in the coming weeks and months, so keep an eye out on Arboretum's website.
