One Minute Silence

OMS has always been synonymous with RATM and while that rap/rock/metal sound is still where this British band is coming from, they have added just enough of their own voice to prevent another round of critical write-offs. The band has tapped into an external energy source, and a majority of these songs are upbeat and bouncy with a preponderance of melodic phrasing, catchy guitar riffs and hummable choruses. Repetition is still One Minute Silence's enemy, as they have an unsettling tendency to flog a riff into submission. There are a couple songs that sound too similar, but tunes like "Rise and Shine," "1845," "210 Dog Years" and "It's Just a Ride" more than make up for any inconsistencies.
