One Hundred Dollars Spinoff the Highest Order Reveal Debut Album and Canadian Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 6, 2013

Toronto songwriter Simone Schmidt already fronts One Hundred Dollars and Fiver, but she recently unveiled yet another new project called the Highest Order. This latest band will release their debut album, If It's Real, in Canada on March 19 through Idée Fixe Records (with a worldwide release to follow on April 16 via Idée Fixe/Redeye).

The disc was recorded by producer Jeff McMurrich (Fucked Up, Owen Pallett, the Luyas), with the press release calling it "a journey through cosmic country and classic rock, inspired by the likes of Gene Clark, the International Submarine Band and New Riders of the Purple Sage."

If It's Real is said to be "a dark trip through tales of lost love, loneliness, addiction, death and murder." It includes covers of "Luxury Liner" by Gram Parsons and "Lonely Weekends" by Charlie Rich. Stream the latter tune below along with the previously released single "Rainbow of Blues."

Besides Schmidt, the Highest Order also features some other One Hundred Dollars members — guitarist Paul Mortimer and bassist Kyle Porter — joined by drummer Simone TB, who's also played live with One Hundred Dollars.

The Highest Order will promote their debut album with Canadian tour dates in the coming months. See the schedule below.
