One Direction's Liam Payne Is Apparently Working on Solo Material with Migos

Following solo breakouts from One Direction members like Zayn and Harry Styles, Liam Payne is gearing up for his own individual music endeavour — and he's enlisted some unexpected help.

According to UK tabloid The Sun, Payne has apparently been in the studio with Atlanta rap trio Migos. "Working with Migos is a big deal," a so-called insider told the paper. "They are one of the most highly regarded hip-hop groups in the world. The collaboration will help push his name out beyond 1D fans in the States."

The "Bad and Boujee" hitmakers aren't the only ones helping the boybandmate recreate his musical image, though. Payne has also reportedly been working with production team Soulshock and Karlin — whose past credits include singles by everyone from 2Pac to Solange to a pre-Oscar win Brie Larson.

"It's definitely not going to be a hip-hop album. He has worked with so many different producers and artists," the source added. "But what's for sure is that his songs will sound very, very different to what Harry Styles has put out."

Apparently, he's going for a sound that toes the line between Justin Bieber and Drake, but we've yet to hear any sonic proof. The dude has been quoting Drake lyrics on Instagram as of late, though.
