Olivier Jarda Reveals Sophomore Effort

Olivier Jarda Reveals Sophomore Effort
It took East Coast folkie Olivier Jarda over a year to prep his sophomore set Good Luck Cartel, but the Halifax resident is finally all set to unleash the disc independently on April 10.

Jarda's latest, the proper follow-up to 2007's Diagrams, was recorded over the course of two winters by Charles Austin at Echo Chamber, and apparently the song cycle represents a huge shift in the songwriter's life. According to a press release, Jarda began writing sessions shortly after skipping out on a climate policy analyst position in Washington, DC, a decision that had him move back to the Maritimes.

Featuring guest appearances from Jarda's former Turnstiles bandmates Peter Gorman and Jesse Griffith, as well as Nick Wombolt, Good Luck Cartel is described as "a collection of modern folk songs, some dressed up, some pared down, whose stories look back, look forward and try to describe the view." You can stream new number "Diving Bell" down below.

Jarda's last release was 2008's Ghost Fees EP.
