Off With Their Heads

I Will Follow You

While many balked when Minneapolis, MN punks Off with their Heads signed with Epitaph last year, In Desolation proved that the quartet were more concerned with bringing the label back to its punk rock roots than adopting its current roster's screamo and metalcore tropes. The title track, well represented by the flaming truck on the cover of this die-cut picture disc, was laid down prior to the sessions that produced In Desolation, but features all the hallmarks that made that record so great. Live B-side "Janie" comes from Pirate Press Records' fifth anniversary show, while "Drain/East River Park" is a nice nod to super-group Cleveland Bound Death Sentence (featuring members of Dillinger Four and Pinhead Gunpowder), combining two short tunes from the band's Unsorted LP into one awesome track. Though hardly the most innovative punk band, Off with their Heads are quickly proving themselves to be one of the most prolific and consistently awesome groups down South. Hopefully we'll be hearing more from them very soon.
