As Octoberman gets ready to hit the road in support of the new album What More What More, the disc is available to stream in full on Exclaim.ca ahead of its August 19 release.
Mixed by Andy Magoffin at Preston, ON's House of Miracles, the 12-song collection finds songwriter Marc Morrissette ruminating about death. A press release notes that these tracks address "the loss of loved ones, friendships, or simply the world as he knows it."
At times, Morrissette and company turn up the distortion for rock-leaning numbers like "Dogwalk," "I Hear Birds" and "Volcano." More often, however, the songwriter is in a quietly contemplative mood and fills the arrangements with folksy strums, melancholic coos and solemn orchestrations.
