Octave Minds

"Symmetry Slice" (video)

Boys Noize is known for overseeing thumping dance parties, but with help from collaborator Chilly Gonzales, Octave Minds are pushing into more cinematic sounds. The dreamy, soporific atmosphere is emphasized in their new video for "Symmetry Slice."

The song begins with quiet ivory tinkles and swelling ambient tones. It picks up somewhat as it goes along, with buzzing synthesizers and low-end thumps that threaten to morph into a banger but never do. This swelling arrangement in reflected in the video's depiction of a woman's surreal somnambular wanderings.
