Remember that authorized Oasis documentary that was announced last year? Now, the impending film finally has a confirmed title.

The movie will be called Supersonic. As you can see from the poster above, it's due out in October, although the exact release date has not been announced. It will arrive in cinemas worldwide, with Canadian distribution handled by D Films.

In a press release, Liam Gallagher said, "Oasis was definitely like a fucking Ferrari, great to look at, great to drive and it will fucking spin out of control every now and again when you go too fast. I loved every minute of it."

His brother Noel said, "The love and the vibe and the passion and the rage and the joy that are coming from the crowd, if anything, that's what Oasis was."

Supersonic is named after the Britpop band's debut single from 1994. Revisit the video for that single below.

As previously confirmed, the movie was directed by Mat Whitecross (Spike Island, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) and produced by Simon Halfon, James Gay-Rees and Fiona Neilson. Both Gay-Rees and Kapadia were involved in the Amy Winehouse doc Amy.
