Notwist, Subtle and Themselves Re-team for New 13 & God LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 2, 2011

Seven years ago, German pop experimentalists the Notwist and Bay Area hip-hop crew Themselves were stranded on a stretch of Ontario highway following a bus fire. While the incident initially proved to be a bummer, it set the wheels in motion for the 13 & God collaboration. The hybrid troupe, which also feature members of Subtle, issued their stand-up self-titled debut in 2005, only to disappear shortly thereafter. Well, 13 & God are now making their return via their sophomore set.

Pitchfork reports that the group's new album, Own Your Ghost, will be issued via Anticon on May 17. The disc was technically recorded in Oakland, with a feed running into a mixing board in Subtle member Dax Pierson's bedroom, as well as in the Notwist's studio in Wellheim, Germany.

You can check out the tracklisting below and see the cover above. So far there's no word of any live shows in support of the record.
