Published Jun 22, 2015Edmonton-based pop punks Nothing Gold Can Stay unleash their latest EP Familiar Faces this week, but before it officially lands, Exclaim! has got you covered with an advance stream.
The Alberta band have an affinity for crunchy guitars and poppy hooks, as we heard on their recent single "Everything I Ever Loved." Now, they've offered up an additional round of tunes on the six-song EP.
Familiar Faces opens with "What's Left of Us Now?" — a quick, crisp, clean intro to the group's melodic sound, though things pick up on "No Place Like It." They show off their punkier side with gutsy guitars and thundering percussion, which continue through on the aggressive "All That I Hate" and the pop-infused title track. The EP closes with an acoustic rendition of "Everything I Ever Loved," bringing the colletion to a soft, sweet-sounding close.
