Northlane

"Obelisk" (video)

The sound of Aussie metalcore crew Northlane is apparently the perfect score for an intimate and introspective exploring of one man's mindscape, as evidenced by the mystical new video for the band's latest single, "Obelisk."

There are two parts to the video. First, we have the quintet cranking out vicious riffs and crushed beats between some ancient pillars. Vocalist Marcus Bridge also offers up a mélange of metal growls and smoothly-sung vocals weighing in on the titular structure ("mirage in the distance, escaping my sight").

On the more dramatic side of things, a young fella is found navigating a darkened plane of disappearing doors, sandy stretches of land, doppelgangers and, as you might imagine, an awe-inspiring obelisk.

You can check out the video down below, while Northlane's Node LP arrives July 24 through new North American label home New Damage Records.

A North American tour starts up in August. You'll find the full details to the Canada-heavy trip over here.
