Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards Conference Returning to Sudbury, ON in April

We all know that Toronto is a hotbed for musical an artistic talent, but Northern Ontario also has no shortage of acclaimed bands, songwriters and filmmakers. From April 28 to 30, the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards Conference will celebrate that scene when it returns to Sudbury, ON.

The highlight of the event is on April 30, when Music and Film in Motion will hold the eighth annual Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards Ceremony at the Great Hall at Laurentian University. It will hand out music awards in five categories: Best Album by a Solo Artist, Best Album by a Duo or Group, Best Songwriter, Best Vocal Performance on a Recording, Best Engineer. In the days leading up to the awards ceremony, an industry conference will be held at the Quality Inn in Sudbury, which will will offer a range of panels discussions. See the list of panels here.

There will also be a music showcase at the Townehouse Tavern on April 29, as well as a film showcase at Rainbow Cinemas the same night.

Tickets are on sale now at the Music and Film in Motion office at 96 Larch Street, Suite 200 in Sudbury, ON. Early bird event passes are available until April 1, and cost $79.10 for MFM members and $113 for non-members. After that, passes will cost $102 for members and $136 for non-members. Tickets for individual events and panels are also available.
