North Lakes

'Grand Prix' (album stream)

Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province, but there sure are a lot of stellar rock bands from the region. The Atlantic province's bustling scene includes North Lakes, whose sophomore LP, Grand Prix, arrives on May 15. But before the album officially arrives, you can stream the entire thing at Exclaim.ca.

The rock'n'roll six-piece drew on some local talent during the making of the album, as they recorded it with Adam Gallant (Boxer the Horse, Al Tuck) at a church in Long Creek, PEI. It was also produced by Colin Buchanan (Paper Lions).

According to a press release, the resulting eight-song collection "is a testament to the galvanized direction and ambition of the up-and-coming Prince Edward Island-based band."

Stream Grand Prix below and hear for yourself. North Lakes will play a handful Atlantic Canadian shows in the coming week, so see their schedule here.
