North Korea "Master Plan B" (video)
The term "supergroup" tends to get tossed around carelessly these days, but let us introduce you to North Korea, the new project made up of vocalist Ryan Hunter and guitarist Bryan Byrne of defunct screamo act Envy on the Coast, the Rivalry bassist Michael Sadis and accomplished prog-metal drummer Billy Rymer of the Dillinger Escape Plan. As it stands, the quartet have only released the new video for "Master Plan B," and, well, it's a decent debut.

Considering their pedigree, Envy on the Coast's mish-mash screamo jock rock is more of a reference point than the rapid-fire jazz-fusion-laced hardcore of the Dillinger Escape Plan. Playing in an all-white room, the outfit blast by on speedy punk licks and Hunter's ragged rasp before dropping into a Quicksand-style post-hardcore groove.

Not much else is known about the band, but chances are good there will be more songs unveiled in the near future.
