Norris Bonecrusher

Norris Bonecrusher
Drastic times call for drastic measures. That seems to be the overriding sentiment with Thunder Bay, ON's Norris, a band that refuse to believe that subtlety can actually coexist with doom metal. It's a wonderful thing that they act thusly because it results in a sound so thick and abrasive that this five-track onslaught is simply obliterating. A beastly union of death metal-inspired vocals with the occasional black metal influx to create a cryptic atmosphere laid over a solid appreciation for acts such as Cursed, Converge and the new brigade of cacophonously creative hardcore goons, Bonecrusher manages to come barrelling out of the speakers with unbridled passion. Inject a few dissonant passages reminiscent of Psyopus and these measly 20 minutes of music still manage to outdo a lot of other full-lengths. (Feast or Famine)
