A small community in Southwestern Ontario is going big on music tourism. The municipality's Amplify Norfolk initiative has partnered with local event providers to organize the Norfolk County Fairgrounds Festival from June 9 to 10, taking place in Simcoe, ON, just two hours southwest of Toronto on Lake Erie.
The Beaches will headline Friday festivities, with Sloan, Finger Eleven and Bif Naked handling the ceremonies on Saturday, as local acts perform the Community Stage and Market Stage for the duration of the festival.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will also host activities, workshops and experiences in the Find Your Folk Meadow, while the Norfolk Night Market will feature artisan vendors, interactive games and exhibits, food trucks, and local craft beer, wine and cider.
"I am thrilled an event of this calibre is happening in Norfolk County. The Fairgrounds Festival is the complete package — great entertainment, food, drink and vendors," said Mayor Amy Martin. "If you need me on June 9 and 10 — you know where I'll be!"
