As we previously reported, Noel Gallagher had a rocky performance during the weekends Virgin Festival in Toronto. It was so rocky, in fact, that the guitarist was taken to a local hospital after being knocked over by a stage invader.
A statement now posted on the bands website says: "Despite his injuries, Noel returned to the stage a few minutes later to complete the band's set but was taken to hospital after the show to be examined for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage."
As far as the offending audience member is concerned, the bands PR person said, "The assailant was detained in police custody and will be charged with assault.
There is no word yet on whether Oasis will go through with Tuesdays (September 9) concert in London, ON. Fans are being urged to check the bands website and news reports for updates.
