Vancouver's No Sinner are set to return with their sophomore LP Old Habits Die Hard next week, but before the new album arrives, Exclaim! is giving you the chance to hear it in its entirety a week early.
The new songs hear the group channelling some of the greats from days gone by, incorporating elements of Janis Joplin, Etta James and Robert Plant into their modern twist on classic rock, blues and soul. Led by the powerhouse vocals of frontwoman Colleen Rennison, the album embraces androgynous vibes as it takes the listener on "a rock'n'roll odyssey through heartbreak and debauchery, good times and bad."
That journey begins with the electrifying, empowering opener "All Woman," before moving through fuzzy, blues-driven scorchers like "Saturday Night," "Get It Up" and "One More Time." There's also some gentler fare on cuts like "Hollow" and "Lines on the Highway."
