No Gold Announce Indefinite Hiatus

Following a five-year stretch that saw them evolve from stoney island-pop practitioners to mellowed-out house explorers, Vancouver trio No Gold have announced they're going on an indefinite hiatus.

The band delivered the news in a Facebook message this week, which explained that while it's news to fans, the decision was a long time coming. Apparently just before performing at Vancouver's 151 Studios on July 28, they opted to close the books on the band for now.

"We want to thank everyone who came out to our shows over the last 5 years, put us up, put up with us, sang along, bought us drinks and got lost in the dance with us," No Gold said in the statement.

In their time together, No Gold offered up a 7-inch, their Exclaim!-approved 2011 self-titled LP, and this year's more electronic-geared New Recipe EP.

It appears as if there are already plans in the works for some new projects — "We're all very excited about what comes next and we hope to see you when we get there," the band wrote — and members will continue DJing events as part of Mood Hut collective.
