No Age's Randy Randall Forms Band With No Age Tribute Act

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and it truly appears so in the case of No Age's Randy Randall. After discovering his band inspired a tribute act called New No Age, the guitarist tracked down the members, Josh Taylor and Kyle Mabson, and not only approved their homage, but decided to get right in there and form a new band with the duo.

According to Pitchfork, the trio christened themselves Cockpit, and got to work on some new songs right away. They're set to debut them tonight (June 16) in Los Angeles at Pehrspace, where Taylor and Mabson are holding down a monthlong side-project residency.

Randall and his other band-mate Dean Spunt, will bring the original No Age to the Great White North for some Canadian gigs in June and July.
