Nneka Unveils North American Tour in Support of 'Soul Is Heavy'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 27, 2012

Nneka's star has been rising for some time now, and this March, the Nigerian-German R&B singer will continue to spread the word by hitting our shores for a North American tour in support of her latest album, Soul Is Heavy, which is due out in our continent February 28 via Yo Mama's Recordings/Decon Records.

Nneka's third LP was originally dropped last year overseas, but is only now getting a proper North American release. According to the press release, it contains a "combination of hip-hop beats, reggae grooves, brass riffs and African pop" and offers listeners an "honest window into her beliefs of love, pain, politics and God."

Once the album is out next month, Nneka will embark on a tour that will have her on the road for most of March. After launching the trek in Vancouver on March 6, she will make subsequent Canadian stops in Toronto on March 23 and Montreal the day after. Additional dates will bring her to Africa and Europe.

You can see all Nneka's upcoming North American stops below, and head here for her international shows.
