Published Oct 29, 2007Thursday (October 25) we printed a story claiming - according to rumours - that the print edition of NME was scheduled to close and the influential music publication would live on in web form. Well, the source for the rumour, weekly gossip newsletter Popbitch, has now printed a retraction saying: "Yesterday we reported a rumour that the print version of the NME was to close. We have been assured by NME, and accept, that any such rumour is entirely false and there is no such plan in place or in contemplation. We apologise to the publishers of the NME for this inaccuracy."
Exclaim! would like to point out that this is its retraction.
