We already knew more or less what would be on Nirvana's upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of their classic 1993 album In Utero, and now the full tracklist has emerged.
As expected, the Super Deluxe version includes three CDs plus a DVD, totalling more than 70 tracks.
Disc 1 features a remastered version of the original album, plus a few B-sides, soundtrack contributions and unreleased mixes. Disc 2 contains the entire album newly remixed (called "2013 album mix"), plus a number of demos and rehearsal tracks. Disc 3 offers a 1993 concert recorded in Seattle and aired on MTV as Live & Loud, while this show reemerges on the DVD. The DVD also boasts an assortment of live performances, rehearsals and the "Heart-Shaped Box" music video.
The package also comes with handwritten lyrics by Cobain, a letter written by In Utero sound mixer Steve Albini to the band prior to the sessions and liner notes by comedian/actor/In Utero touring partner Bobcat Goldthwait.
Along with the CD/DVD version, the re-release will be available in a three-LP vinyl edition, featuring the original album remastered at Abbey Road Studios on two 45 RPM LPs, plus a 33 1/3 RPM LP of all the remastered B-sides, never-before-heard mixes and bonus tracks from the original album release. All three LPs are on 180 gram vinyl.
The reissue is out on September 24 through Universal.
