It's About Time, indeed. After teasing a new album called It's About Time in 2015, and then failing to meet the pushed-back 2017 deadline, Nile Rodgers & Chic have finally revealed the release date for the band's first new album in 26 years. It's now due out on September 7 via Virgin/EMI.

Despite having toured frequently in the last few years, the band haven't released a studio album since 1992's Chic-ism.

Rodgers revealed the album artwork for the upcoming effort, pointing out that it's "a reboot of the beginning of Chic" — which mirrors what he describes as a current "reboot of my life." See the cover art pictured above.

The album reportedly features cameos from Craig David, Stefflon Don and a production credit for Danny L Harle. An upcoming single titled "Till the World Falls" also has appearances from Mura Masa, Anderson .Paak, Vic Mensa and Cosha; it's due out June 22.

The album also features NAO and Mura Masa on another new track called "Boogie All Night," which was premiered live on Later… with Jools Holland last night (June 12). Watch the first televised performance of it below.
