Nile Rodgers

'From Disco to Daft Punk' (tribute film) (dir. Daft Punk)

Earlier this year, Nile Rodgers announced that Daft Punk had made "touching film" in anticipation of his band Chic's new album. Now, that short film has emerged.

The clip is less than a minute long. In it, the Daft Punk robots listen to a vinyl copy of Carly Simon's "Why" (which was co-produced by Rodgers) and they use a retro computer to type a tribute message to the guitarist. It's brief, but it looks snazzy and it gets the point across.

This is part of the French-language documentary Nile Rodgers: From Disco to Daft Punk, which can be seen in full at Arte.
