Nicki Minaj's Husband Is Under House Arrest After Threatening Offset

Kenneth Petty has been ordered to serve 120 days of home detention

Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj's husband, has been ordered to serve 120 days of home detention for violating the terms of his probation after he "was recorded on video making threatening remarks to a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Central District of California ordered Petty's house arrest yesterday after he was filmed outside a New York hotel last week making threats against Migos' Offset.

In the videos, which showed up on social media on September 16, Petty and two other men stand outside the hotel and talk shit about Offset, who they apparently thought was staying at the hotel in question. At one point, Petty says, "Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, pussy!" Offset posted a video of himself standing outside a private jet in response, laughing and calling Petty "broke."

Petty is currently under probation because he pleaded guilty of failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020. In 1995, Petty was convicted for attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, and he served four years in prison. Nicki Minaj — who has been married to Petty since 2020 — has been accused of attempting to silence Petty's victim using bribes and harassment. Minaj and Petty have one child together.

Petty's threats against Offset are presumably tied up in Nicki Minaj and Cardi B's long-running beef. The two have been throwing subtle (sometimes not-so-subtle) disses at each other for a while — in 2017, both Nicki and Cardi featured on Migos' "Motor Sport," and the two got into a physical altercation the following year at New York Fashion Week. Couples that beef together stay together!
