Nick Cave Set to Release Second Grinderman Album in September

The horribly facial-haired Nick Cave has announced a release date for Grinderman 2, the second release from his Grinderman project.

The disc will drop on September 14 (and one day earlier overseas), according to a post on the Grinderman website. The post doesn't offer much more than that, but it does have some UK tour dates if you happen to be in the neighbourhood.

In an interview with The Quietus in September 2009, band member/multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis said that the album is going to be even more left-field than the first.

"It's probably more fleshed out than the first one; we've probably learned to play the instruments a bit more," he said. "It's kind of like stoner rock meets Sly Stone via Amon Düül. It's very diverse, and there's a lot of stuff on there that doesn't sound like anything we've done before."

In other Cave news, he recently received an honorary degree from a Scottish university and also saw the re-release of three more of his albums with the Bad Seeds at the end of March.
