Published Nov 09, 2009Nick Cave just can't seem to get enough of the characters in his latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro. Following a press blitz and the book's own unique iPhone app, the Aussie author has now revealed that he's likely to expand the project into a TV show.
In a recent interview with Spinner, Cave revealed his TV desires, saying, "I want to do a TV series or at least like a three-part TV series. You can go deeper with TV in a way, within actually creating a character. You have more time to live with the character."
Director and frequent Cave collaborator John Hillcoat made this sound more likely in a recent interview with Atomic Popcorn [via TwentyFourBit], saying, "We're going to turn that into television. We're going to try and wake up the BBC and, or, actually Channel 4. We're trying to say to British television, 'Look at HBO, I mean what the hell are you doing?'"
Whether or not they can get this ball rolling is yet to be seen. In the meantime, Hillcoat's adaptation of The Road, featuring a score from Cave, is due in theatres later this month.
