Nick Cave Offered Driving Lessons Following December Car Crash

From his beginnings with art rock weirdoes the Birthday Party, to his haunted musings with the Bad Seeds, to his recent raucous outings with Grinderman, Nick Cave's recording career is nearly flawless. His driving record? Unfortunately, not so much.

As previously reported, the legendary vocalist crashed his Jaguar into a road barrier in Brighton, England early last December, wrecking a speed camera, not to mention the car, in the process. Thankfully, none of the vehicle's passengers, the singer and his twin ten-year-old sons, was hurt.

While little has surfaced on the details of the accident, BBC reports that the frontman has been offered driving lessons to avoid being prosecuted over the incident. It should be noted that Cave was not arrested over the affair.

"The driver of a Jaguar saloon car which collided with a roadside speed camera on Hove seafront in December has been offered driver training," said a spokesperson for Sussex police.

Cave's representatives have refused to comment on the accident.
