With summer in full swing, we're here to guide you, as we do every Thursday, through the best shows going on in Canada this week so you don't miss out on some great live music opportunities.

In this weekly edition Can't Miss Concerts, spanning June 22 to 28, we've combed our Concert Listings to find incredible shows from DIY folk-punks to '80s synth-pop act to Aussie art-rock icons and beyond. Take a look below for our picks, then check our full listings page to see what else is coming your way this week.

Alexisonfire

It's not often that you get a chance to see a band while they're "on hiatus," but Ontario post-hardcore favourites Alexisonfire have been sporadically bringing back their high energy performances to fans over the last couple of years. Catch them play in Quebec at Montebello Rockfest later in the week.

06/24/2017 Montebello, QC – Montebello Marina

B.A. Johnston

If you haven't been able to catch one of Hamilton, ON folk-punk singer B.A. Johnston's grimy yet ridiculously entertaining live shows yet, you're going to want to crack a cold, cheap beer and prepare yourself for a strange night. East Coast fans have the chance to see him perform this week with three back-to-back shows in the Maritimes.

06/22/2017 Charlottetown, PE – Hunters
06/23/2017 Sydney, NS – The Upstairs Club
06/24/2017 Moncton, NB – The Caveau

DIANA

Toronto synth-pop heroes DIANA may not have intended to move past the recording stage, but their live shows have become a spectacle, with seven members covering the many layers of their dreamy sound. Western Canada plays host to the band this week when they make stops in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Land of Talk

Soulful indie-rock group Land of Talk made their triumphant return this year with their first record in nearly a decade, Life After Youth, following a lengthy hiatus. Now the band are back on the road, and fans living out west will be treated to a handful of dates, including a show at the reopened King Edward Hotel in Calgary for the Sled Island Music and Arts Festival.

This year, the festival has gathered Prairie rockers Scenic Route to Alaska, folk-rock group Joel Plaskett Emergency and country singer Leeroy Stagger, among others.

06/22-25/2017 Swift Current, SK - Windscape Kite Festival Site

Montebello Rockfest

Canada's largest rock festival is back for its 12th edition this week, where thousands of people will gather to see some of the best punk, rock and metal artists perform in Montebello, Quebec. This year, the small village will see performances from German shock-rockers Rammstein, iconic rap collective Wu-Tang Clan, punk legend Iggy Pop and a ton of other artists.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Legendary Australian art rockers Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have been on an extensive tour of North America in support of last year's critically acclaimed Skeleton Tree, and the shows have been nothing short of amazing so far. Fans in Vancouver get their chance to see Cave and his band perform this week before they head back across the border to wrap up the tour.

06/22/2017 Vancouver, BC – Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Ryan Adams

Prolific alt-rock singer Ryan Adams has quite a diverse range of influences, and after dropping the retro rock-inspired album Prisoner earlier this year, he's been touring his extensive catalogue across North America. Following a solid performance in Toronto last month, Adams returns to Canada for four dates out West this week that you're not going to want to miss out on.
