Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have officially cancelled their North American tour that was meant to kick off this fall.

Without mentioning COVID-19 as the reason for cancelling, the artists have issued a statement about the "difficult" decision:

We have taken the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming North American 2020 Tour. Tickets purchased will be refunded in full. We are working hard on plans to return to the US and Canada in 2021, and will announce details this fall.

The tour would have made three stops in Canada, including Laval, Toronto and Vancouver. South of the border, Weyes Blood would have served as the supporting act for a number of the 18 scheduled performances.

Ticketholders are eligible for full refunds.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds last released a full-length record in 2019, with Ghosteen. Weyes Blood's Titanic Rising was released last year as well.

See the announcement below, where you'll also find the updated tour schedule.
