Newfoundland's Shed Island Festival Announces Initial 2015 Lineup

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 5, 2015

Not to be confused with Calgary's Sled Island Music Festival, independent St. John's music and arts festival Shed Island is set to celebrate its second instalment this summer, and organizers have just rolled out the initial wave of performers.

As previously reported, Toronto-via-Halifax pysch-metal unit Crosss will headline this year's festival, but an array of other genre-spanning Canadian bands will join them on the bill as well. Kestrels, Best Fiends, Acousma, Crossed Wires, Unreal Thought, Fog Lake, and Jonny and the Cowabungas are all slated to perform sets.

In addition to this first round of performers, the festival will be announcing more acts as the event draws nearer. Submissions for local bands wanting to earn a spot on the lineup are open until June 12, and you can find out how to apply here.

Shed Island will run from August 13 to 16 at venues across St. John's. Check the official website for full festival details and updates.
