Yesterday (June 18), we learned that an all-star lineup of artists, including Best Coast, Antony Hegarty, the Kills and MGMT, were taking part in a new tribute disc to Fleetwood Mac, but we didn't know what it would be called. We now know it's titled Just Tell Me That You Want Me: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, and the first sneak preview comes via the New Pornographer's cover of "Think About Me".
The Pornos inject some extra energy into the Tusk cut, speeding it up ever so slightly. Carl Newman takes on those Christine McVie vocals, while the rest of the group pipe in for some melodic backups. While the original featured some tasty guitar leads mid-song, this new version flips the script with a wild blend of backwards-tracked six-strings and warped and wriggly synth squelches.
